Why Visit The Fonseca Winery?
The Portuguese banks of the Duero produce some of the most exquisite wines in northern Portugal in towns such as Vila Nova de Gaia. In this town, separated from Porto by the river, the Fonseca Winery can be found. This winery dates back more than 200 years.
This tour of this wine-tourism center lasts around an hour. Throughout your tour, you'll discover how these Porto wines are made. During the self-guided tour, you'll learn about the growing history of the Quinta do Panascal, the aging process of the wines, and sustainable wine-making techniques.
The guided tour will end in the tasting room, where you'll try a glass of Oporto Fonseca Bin 27. Children can try grape juice made from grapes grown in the Duero Valley.
