River Cruise to Alcoutim

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the river port in Vila Real de Santo António to start the cruise. Onboard the boat, we'll sail along the Guadiana River, appreciating the scenery and waterfowl. The boat trip lasts 2 hours, taking us to various riverside villages.

We will stop in Alcoutim, welcomed by the statue known as O Contrabandista, honoring the historical smuggling activity on the border. Here, you'll have two hours to explore the village, with options for shopping, swimming in the river, or visiting Sanlúcar de Guadiana, a nearby Spanish village.

After exploring, we'll meet at a local restaurant for a local lunch. The menu includes pâté, olives, chorizo, and cheese as appetizers, grilled cod with salad or roast pork leg for the main course, and pudding for dessert. Wine, soft drinks, and water will be provided.

We will then return to Vila Real de Santo António by boat, arriving 7 hours later.
