At the chosen time, we will meet at Carrera 9 in Villa de Leyva. From there, we will walk to the outskirts of the municipality and begin our hike through Las Cárcavas, known for its yellow and brown rock formations.

During the three-hour hike, we will traverse semi-desert and eroded landscapes that contrast with nearby forests. We will see various rock formations as we follow the Canal de los Españoles, an old mule path used for transporting agricultural products.

We will reach the viewpoint of Las Cárcavas, located at 1600 meters above sea level, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Some rocks have crater shapes resembling lunar surfaces. Attention will be given to explanations regarding these formations. We will take a break to capture photos and hear legends of the area.

Finally, we will conclude the experience by returning to the meeting point.
