Spring Windmill and El Infiernito Tour
You will be picked up at your hotel in Valle de Leyva at the agreed time and board the minibus to the Escondido Valley, a 2 square kilometre plateau bathed by the Cané River. The journey offers scenic views until we reach the Molino de la Primavera, a two-story house where you will learn about the stone milling process. After this, you will participate in a game of Tejo, a traditional activity involving throwing a metal ball into a clay court.
Following a walk through the trails surrounding Villa de Leyva, we will reach El Infiernito, known as the astronomical observatory of Muisca. While exploring this area featuring phallic monoliths over 13 feet (4 metres) tall, we will discuss the significance of these fertility symbols in the local culture.
Finally, you will be returned to your hotel, approximately four hours after the start of the activity.
