Cucunubá Hiking Tour
We'll meet at 8 am at the main park of Ubaté to start a hiking route exploring the landscapes of the Eastern Cordillera of Colombia.
This 5 km (3 miles) hike will showcase the biodiversity of the natural area in the department of Cundinamarca, where we may observe deer, Andean condors, and various bird species, with around 180 different bird species in this region.
Our route includes unique sites like the Cucunubá lagoon. As we traverse the Colombian páramo, known for its native vegetation, we will share myths and ancestral legends tied to the land.
We will encounter a waterfall by the lagoon, historically significant for the native population's daily activities. Discussions will also cover the wool's importance in the region, highlighting that Cucunubá is known for producing top-quality textiles from Creole sheep wool.
We will return to the meeting point in Ubaté at 2 pm.
