Discover the ruins of León Viejo and present-day León, the city where Rubén Darío spent his last days, with this excursion from Managua!
Description
We'll kick off our adventure to the historic city of León at 9 am, picking you up from your hotel in Managua. Our bus ride will take approximately an hour and a half to the base of the Momotombo volcano, where we will explore the ruins of León Viejo, established by Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba.
Next, we'll visit present-day León, starting at the Cathedral, which is the final resting place of the poet Rubén Darío. Afterward, we will tour the House-Museum, providing insights into Darío's life.
We'll also explore the local market, where you will have 1 hour of free time to sample traditional products of León.
Our tour continues with a visit to the Art Center of the Ortiz-Gurdián Foundation to learn about local artistic techniques. We will then begin our return journey to Managua.
Finally, we will drop you off at your hotel by 5 pm.
