Somoto Canyon Excursion

Discover an incredible natural gem in the Madriz department of Nicaragua with our exciting excursion to Somoto Canyon from Managua!

Description

We will begin this adventure by picking you up at your hotel in Managua at 6 am. The journey will take us to Somoto Canyon.

During the minibus ride, we will make a quick stop for rest and an optional breakfast. After approximately 4 hours, we will arrive at the gorge, where a knowledgeable guide will provide the necessary equipment for our adventure.

Our journey starts with a 1.2-mile (2 km) hike through knee-deep water. Following this, we'll board a boat for a scenic ride to the entrance of Somoto Canyon.

Upon arrival, you will have 3 options: admire the viewpoint, take a swim in the Coco River, or ride on a giant floatie for 1,312 ft (400 meters) down the canyon. Whatever option you choose, you will have an enjoyable experience.

By 2 pm, we will conclude our adventure with a traditional lunch consisting of rice, beans, salad, and chicken.

Finally, we will return to your hotel in Managua, arriving around 7 pm.
