Discover the oldest city in the Americas and try some traditional food on this guided tour of Santo Domingo's most emblematic monuments.
Description
Between 7 and 8 am, hotel pickup will occur, followed by a westward drive toSanto Domingo. After approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, the guided tour will commence.
The tour will begin at the Los Tres Ojos Cave and continue to the exterior of the Columbus Lighthouse. The façade of the Presidential Palace will be observed next, followed by a visit to the Basilica Cathedral of Santa María la Menor, the oldest cathedral in the Americas.
After the cathedral, the group will walk along Las Damas Street and visit the National Pantheon. The tour proceeds to the Plaza de España, ultimately taking guests inside the Alcázar de Colon.
A stop at a souvenir shop featuring Larimar will also be included. A buffet lunch with typical dishes will be available, with free time to enjoy it. Post-lunch, the group will visit the boardwalk for views of the Caribbean Sea, returning to hotels between 6 and 7 pm.
Hotel pickup
This day trip includes hotel pickup from locations in Bávaro, Punta Cana, Cap Cana, Úvero Alto, Bayahibe, Dominicus, La Romana, Juan Dolió, and Boca Chica. Pick-ups are not included in the Playa Nueva Romana area, and those staying outside will be picked up at the Total gas station in La Romana.
Temporary closures
The Alcazar de Colon is closed for remodeling. This segment will be replaced with a tour of the Museum of the Royal Houses (Museo de las Casas Reales).
