Day Trip to Oxapampa
We'll meet at 8 am at Leopoldo Krausse Avenue in Villa Rica. From here, we will travel approximately an hour and a half to the village of Oxapampa.
Upon arrival, we will begin with a guided tour of Oxapampa, exploring its history, notably its foundation by Austro-German immigrants, making it the second colony of its type after Pozuzo.
During the tour, we will walk the streets to observe the wooden buildings, particularly the church of Santa Rosa, a highlight of Germanic colonial architecture.
Following this, we will visit a handicraft store for souvenir shopping and proceed to the Floralp dairy plant, where we will learn about their cheese and yogurt production.
Next, we will visit the Wharapo, a mill for extracting sugar cane juice to make traditional drinks, with tasting included.
We will then explore the Selva Encantadora de Oxapampa (Enchanted Jungle of Oxapampa) and visit the Tunki Cave, known for its stalactites and stalagmites.
Finally, we will relax at a ranch, where you can partake in activities such as canoeing or horseback riding. We will return to Villa Rica, dropping you off at the starting point around 6 pm.
