Discover the beauty of central Peru's rainforests on our Perené Valley Tour. You'll see waterfalls, reserves for protected species, and villages in just one day.
Perené Valley Tour
At 8 am, we will meet on Leopoldo Krausse Avenue in Villa Rica to begin our tour of the Perené Valley.
On our way, we will cross the central jungle and pass the Cerro de Sal mine, where Indigenous communities once extracted salt. A stop will be made at the Tinkuy Viewpoint to observe where the Chanchamayo and Paucartambo Rivers meet and where the Perené River begins.
Next, we will visit the Machetero Kingdom, dedicated to protecting this giant rodent. Following this, we will head to an Asháninka community to learn about their culture and traditions.
After this cultural experience, we will enter the jungle to explore the Bride's Veil and Bayoz Waterfalls, two major natural attractions in the Perené Valley. We will also take a boat trip on the Perené River to appreciate the scenery along its banks.
Our final stop will be at the Zhaveta Yard, known as the Butterfly Garden, where we will see various species of insects and mammals, including monkeys, turtles, paiches, and macaws.
After a 10-hour tour of the Perené Valley, we will return to Villa Rica and drop you off at the starting point.
