Perené Valley Tour
At 8 am, we'll meet on Leopoldo Krausse Avenue in Villa Rica to begin our tour of the Perené Valley.
During the journey, we will cross the central jungle and pass the Cerro de Sal mine, historically significant for Indigenous communities. A stop will be made at the Tinkuy Viewpoint to observe the confluence of the Chanchamayo and Paucartambo Rivers and the source of the Perené River.
We will then visit the Machetero Kingdom, dedicated to the protection of a giant rodent. Following this, we will engage with an Asháninka community to learn about their culture and traditions.
After this cultural immersion, we'll proceed into the jungle to visit the Bride's Veil and Bayoz Waterfalls, two main natural attractions in the Perené Valley. A boat trip on the Perené River will be included to enjoy the scenic riverbanks.
Our final destination will be the Zhaveta Yard, or Butterfly Garden, where various species of insects and mammals, including monkeys, turtles, paiches, and macaws, can be observed.
The tour lasts 10 hours, after which we will return to Villa Rica and drop you off at the starting point.
