Let yourself be enchanted by the world's first Austro-German colony on our day trip to Pozuzo and Prusia. We'll visit these two towns in Oxapampa and learn how they were founded by European immigrants.

Pozuzo & Prusia Day Trip

At 6 am, we'll meet at Avenida Leopoldo Krausse and leave Villa Rica for the province of Oxapampa. On the way, we'll enjoy the scenery, including the Yanachaga Chemillén National Park and the Rayantambo and Yulitunky waterfalls.

Our first stop will be in Pozuzo, founded in 1895 by Austro-German immigrants. We'll see wooden and gable-roofed buildings typical of Central Europe and tour iconic spots like the Colonists' cemetery and the replica of the Norton, the ship that brought the immigrants to Peru.

We'll also visit the Schafferer Museum to learn about Austro-German colonization through artifacts brought by the first residents from Europe.

Next, we'll head to Prusia, known for its beautiful Germanic buildings. After touring, we will break for a typical lunch that includes a meat dish and a drink.

Post-lunch, we will visit the Emperor Wilhelm I Suspension Bridge, an arts and crafts shop, and a craft brewery to sample some beer.

Finally, we will return to Villa Rica, dropping you off at the meeting point between 5 and 6 pm.
