Day Trip to Aicuña

Prepare for an adventure along one of the most stunning roads in Argentina. Join us as we venture to the Cuesta de Miranda viewpoint and the quaint village of Aicuña, nestled in the heart of the province.

Description

Your journey will commence from your Villa Union accommodation at the scheduled time, headed eastward. We will navigate through the National Routes 76 and 40, with the latter leading us to Aicuña, a charming settlement in the northwestern part of La Rioja province. This village, with its population of around 400 residents, seems to have stayed timeless, offering an enchanting experience.

As we wander through the streets of Aicuña, you'll delve into the local history and discover its remarkable wine production, notable for such a small community. After our exploration of the village, we’ll take a moment for you to enjoy the packed lunch you brought along.

Next, we will head back to RN-40, continuing our journey towards the winding beauty of Cuesta de Miranda, which stands at an elevation of 2000 meters (6,560 feet). Along the way, we'll stop at various lookout points to appreciate the breathtaking landscapes characterized by their distinctive reddish tones found in La Rioja province.

Once we've savored the scenery at Cuesta de Miranda, we'll make our way back along RN-40, returning to Villa Union. You can expect to arrive at your hotel roughly 5 hours after we set off.
