Planning a trip to the Dordogne? Don't miss the enchanting Château de Puyguilhem in Villars, a notable French Renaissance landmark.
Why Visit Château de Puyguilhem?
This mansion, a French Renaissance masterpiece, allows exploration at your own pace with an entrance ticket. Acquired by Pierre Mondot de la Marthonie in 1510, it transformed from a defensive fortress to a Renaissance residence.
As you explore, experience the decorative style of Mondot, linked to Louise of Savoy, the mother of King Francis I. He became the first president of the Parliament of Paris in 1515, marking a significant moment in history.
The ticket provides access to various rooms, including the kitchens and bedrooms of Renaissance figures, and offers picturesque panoramic views of Villars.
