If you love birds, you can't miss this birdwatching tour in Villavicencio. We'll travel through a beautiful area of the Orinoquia in search of parrots, toucans, black woodpeckers and other birds native to the region.

Birdwatching in Villavicencio

We'll pick you up at 5:30 am at your hotel in Villavicencio and drive to the 'piedemonte llanero'. This area, located in the natural region of the Orinoquia, features lush forests that serve as habitats for numerous wild birds.

First, we will have breakfast with local products in nature, then take a walk along various ecological trails. These trails traverse a large forest reserve, allowing us to approach significant bird habitats in the mountainous area of Villavicencio.

During this birdwatching route, we'll see numerous native species including woodpeckers, squirrel cuckoos, and bearded vultures. A wide variety of parrots and toucans will also be observed.

We will discover the key characteristics of size, plumage, and beak necessary to distinguish between species and make scheduled stops at viewpoints to watch the sunrise over beautiful locations in the Meta department.

The tour will conclude with a return to your hotel in Villavicencio, expected by 10:30 am.
