Birdwatching in Villavicencio
We'll pick you up at 5:30 am at your hotel in Villavicencio and drive to the 'piedemonte llanero'. This region in the Orinoquia features lush forests that house various wild birds.
First, we'll enjoy a local breakfast in nature. Then, we'll walk different ecological trails that traverse a large forest reserve, providing access to significant bird habitats in the mountainous area of Villavicencio.
During the tour, we'll observe numerous native species, including woodpeckers, squirrel cuckoos, and bearded vultures, as well as various parrots and toucans.
Along the route, we'll explore the main characteristics of size, plumage, and beak for identifying birds. We'll also make several stops at viewpoints to experience the sunrise over the Colombian department of Meta.
Finally, we will return to your hotel in Villavicencio, arriving around 10:30 am.
