If you love birds, you can't miss this birdwatching tour in Villavicencio. We'll travel through a beautiful area of the Orinoquia in search of parrots, toucans, black woodpeckers and other birds native to the region.
Birdwatching in Villavicencio
We'll pick you up at 5:30 am at your hotel in Villavicencio and drive to the 'piedemonte llanero'. This area, located in the natural region of the Orinoquia, is characterized by lush forests that serve as a habitat for numerous wild birds.
First, we'll have a breakfast of local products in nature and then take a walk along different ecological trails. These trails pass through a large forest reserve, allowing us to get close to the main bird habitats in the mountainous area of Villavicencio.
During this bird-watching route, we'll see numerous native species, including woodpeckers, squirrel cuckoos and bearded vultures, as well as a variety of parrots and toucans.
Along the route, we'll explore the main characteristics of size, plumage, and beak that help distinguish one bird from another. We will also stop at different viewpoints to watch the sunrise over these beautiful places in the Meta department.
Finally, we'll conclude the tour by returning to your hotel in Villavicencio, expected arrival at 10:30 am.
