If you're passionate about languages, you can't miss out on the Cité Internationale de la Langue Française, a center dedicated to the French language located in the castle of Villers-Cotterêts.
Why Visit the Cité Internationale de la Langue Française?
Nestled in the Haute-France region, just north of Paris, stands the Villers-Cotterêts Castle. Originally a Renaissance castle commissioned by King François I, this historical monument now hosts the Cité Internationale de la Langue Française, an exhibition center dedicated to the French language.
Your ticket allows you to explore this restored castle, reopened in October 2023. Walk through the castle's rooms, which house the exhibits of the Cité Internationale de la Langue Française.
The interactive exhibition explores the origin and evolution of the French language. As you traverse the castle, you'll discover insights about the French language and its history, including its global speakers and evolution over the centuries.
