Why Visit the Cité Internationale de la Langue Française?
Nestled in the Haute-France region, just north of Paris, stands the Villers-Cotterêts Castle. Originally a Renaissance castle commissioned by King François I, this historical monument in the Aisne department now hosts the Cité Internationale de la Langue Française—an expansive exhibition center dedicated to the French language.
Your ticket grants you the freedom to explore this meticulously restored castle, reopened to the public in October 2023. Wander through the castle's rooms, which now house diverse exhibits about the French language, its origin, and evolution as a key European language spoken worldwide. This visit promises a blend of historical exploration and linguistic discovery.
