Cueva del Silencio Hike

We will meet at the Church of Viñales at the scheduled time to begin a hiking route along the Palmarito trail in Viñales Valley.

The hike will lead us into the valley to view the mogotes, unique rock formations. Along the route, extensive tobacco and coffee plantations will be visible. A stop will be made to observe tobacco drying, learn about the cigar-making process, and sample an authentic Cuban cigar.

Next, we will arrive at the Cueva del Silencio, or "Cave of Silence." We will descend to nearly 328 feet (100 meters) into the cave to explore a lagoon within the rock walls.

We will spend half an hour in the cave, then proceed to a nearby lake for swimming. Participants will have free time to appreciate the scenery and have a snack.

The hike will conclude as we return to the starting point and conclude our 5-hour adventure.
