On this excursion to Anchieta, we'll explore the city's past and its beaches with crystalline waters.
Day trip to Anchieta
At 7 am, we'll depart from your hotel and travel south along the coastal road. After a 1.5-hour drive, we will arrive in Anchieta. This city is named after José de Anchieta, a Spanish priest who came to Brazil in 1553 to assist with the evangelization of Native Americans, learning their language and opposing colonizer abuses.
We will visit the National Sanctuary of San José de Anchieta, which includes the church of Our Lady of the Assumption and a former Jesuit residence from 1579, a significant site for local Catholics.
Next, we’ll go to the Iriri area, where you will have 2 hours free to explore Costa Azul and Areia Preta, two pristine beaches. During this time, you can sunbathe, snorkel, swim, or enjoy refreshments at nearby beachfront restaurants.
Finally, we will return from the coast of Iriri to your hotel, arriving at 2 pm.
