The tour meets in Wanaka Marina at the chosen time, where participants will board a boat for a pleasant 45-minute cruise on Lake Wanaka to reach the destination.

Mou Waho Island is unique as it features a lake on an island, which is itself within a lake on an island.

Upon arrival at Mou Waho, there will be a one and a half hour trek through the nature reserve, culminating in a climb to its highest peak for impressive views of Lake Wanaka and the surrounding area. This trek provides the opportunity to discover some of New Zealand's exotic birds, such as the weka.

After the exploration, participants will board the boat again to return to the starting point.
