Warwick Castle is one of the oldest and most impressive Medieval fortresses in the United Kingdom. Built in 914, it has sustained attacks and sieges over the centuries, yet remains one of the most well-preserved castles in the country. Initially a military stronghold during the Hundred Years War, it was converted into a country house in the early 17th century and remained under the ownership of the Earls of Warwick until 1978 when it opened to the public.
What to See at Warwick Castle?
The castle offers attractions such as the Great Hall, State Rooms, walls, and towers, providing insight into medieval life. A highlight is the Trebuchet, the largest medieval siege weapon, along with opportunities to explore the dungeons or navigate the maze, making it ideal for family entertainment.
