Old Town Alexandria & Mount Vernon Tour Itinerary

Travel back in time on this guided half-day tour of two popular nearby destinations from Washington DC. Your comfortable air-conditioned bus will pick you up from the US Navy Memorial and take you towards Virginia.

Spend the first part of your tour exploring the picturesque streets of Old Town Alexandria, President George Washington's hometown. You'll pass by colonial-themed buildings housing over 200 restaurants and boutiques, and see important sights such as Robert E. Lee’s childhood home, the George Washington Masonic Temple, and the Historic Christ Church.

You'll then enjoy a drive alongside the scenic Potomac River to reach the Mount Vernon Estate, the plantation where George Washington resided. A guided tour will cover the mansion, the gardens, and the burial site of the president. During your visit, you will have time to eat lunch (not included) and visit the education centre if desired.
