Visit one of Iceland's best beaches on our Raudasandur Day Trip from Patreksfjördur. You'll travel through breathtaking Icelandic scenery and walk along Raudasandur's famous red sand.

Raudasandur Day Trip

We'll meet at 9 am at Þórsgata 8a in Patreksfjördur and drive south to Raudasandur. During the 30 minute journey, you'll be able to see fantastic views of the Patreksfjördur fjord from the minibus.

Raudasandur, meaning "red sand," features over 6 miles (10 kilometres) of reddish-coloured sand. You can stroll around the beach and observe the contrast of the red sand against the surrounding black cliffs.

If it's a clear day, the Snæfellsjökull glacier may be visible in the distance. There is also a chance to see seal families on the beach.

After visiting the beach and learning about its history, we'll return to the starting point and conclude our day trip at around 2 pm.
