Live an unforgettable experience around the impressive Whitehorse lakes! You'll learn to fish in one of the best fishing locations, accompanied by a Canadian guide.

Whitehorse Ice Fishing

The day begins at 1 pm at the Sternwheeler Hotel & Conference Centre, from where we'll head to one of the many lakes in the Yukon. This territory stands out because of its variety of lakes and rivers, making ice fishing an ideal activity.

We will take a snowshoe walk through the area, enjoying a journey over the frozen territory. Once we reach the chosen lake, we'll try our hand at Ice fishing, a practice dating back 4000 years. Upon arrival at the lake in Whitehorse, we'll drill a hole through the ice, which can be up to 1 metre thick in winter.

We will then make a small bonfire to keep warm and sit around the hole to begin fishing. Various fish inhabit the Yukon lakes, including northern pike, lake trout, arctic grayling, and rainbow trout.

If we catch a fish, our guide will slice it and cook it on the fire, providing a meal from scratch.

Finally, we'll head back to the start point for 5 pm.
