Whitehorse Ice Fishing

Live an unforgettable experience around the impressive Whitehorse lakes! You'll learn to fish in one of the best fishing locations, accompanied by a Canadian guide.

The day begins at 1 pm at the Sternwheeler Hotel & Conference Centre from where we'll head to one of the many lakes in the Yukon. This territory stands out particularly because of its variety of lakes and rivers, making ice fishing a perfect activity to enjoy in this area.

We will take a snowshoe walk through the area, enjoying a unique journey over the frozen territory. Once we arrive at the lake chosen by the guide, we will practice ice fishing, a historic activity dating back 4000 years, initially essential for survival. Upon reaching the lake in Whitehorse, we'll drill a hole through the ice, which can be up to 1 meter thick in winter!

Next, we'll create a small bonfire to keep warm and sit around the hole to begin fishing. In the Yukon lakes, you can find a variety of fish including northern pike, lake trout, arctic grayling, and rainbow trout.

If we're fortunate enough to catch a fish, our guide will slice it and cook it over the fire, providing a delicious meal made from scratch!

Finally, we will return to the starting point by 5 pm.

During this guided tour, you will engage in ice fishing guided by a local expert, who will assist you in mastering the skill.

The experience starts at 1 pm and concludes around 5 pm, allowing for a full afternoon of fishing and exploration. You will be provided with snowshoes for the walk to the lake, along with all necessary fishing equipment.
