Live an unforgettable experience around the impressive Whitehorse lakes! You'll learn to fish in one of the best fishing locations, accompanied by a Canadian guide.

Whitehorse Ice Fishing

The day begins at 1 pm at the Sternwheeler Hotel & Conference Centre, from where we'll head to one of the many lakes in the Yukon. This area is noted for its variety of lakes and rivers, making ice fishing an ideal activity.

We will take a snowshoe walk through the area, enjoying a unique journey over the frozen terrain. Once we reach the lake chosen by the guide, we will try our hand at Ice fishing, a practice with a history spanning 4000 years, originally vital for survival. Upon arrival, we'll drill a hole through the ice, which can be up to 1 metre thick in winter.

Afterward, we'll make a small bonfire to keep warm and sit around the hole to commence fishing. The Yukon lakes host a variety of fish including northern pike, lake trout, arctic grayling and rainbow trout.

If we are fortunate to catch a fish, our guide will slice it and cook it on the fire for a meal prepared from scratch.

Finally, we'll return to the starting point by 5 pm.
