Lower Silesia Exploration
We will gather at the Pub Guinness in Plac Solny at the scheduled time, commencing our journey southward through the scenic vistas of Lower Silesia.
Our adventure begins in the charming town of ?widnica. Here, we'll have the opportunity to explore one of the region's architectural gems, the Church of Peace. Recognized as a World Heritage Site, it stands as the largest wooden church in Central Europe. Its interiors showcase elegant woodwork and intricate ornamental design, making it a truly captivating sight.
Next, we will proceed to the impressive Ksiaz Castle, where a guided exploration awaits. As we wander through this medieval stronghold, we'll uncover the stories of its illustrious occupants, including nobles, aristocrats, and dukes. Additionally, we will delve into the castle's intriguing history, particularly its role in a Nazi initiative known as "The Giant."
Following our visit to Ksiaz Castle, we will travel to Jawor to admire its own Church of Peace. This church boasts a remarkable background; due to the Treaty of Westphalia, it was constructed for Protestant Lutherans on the city's outskirts and strictly with perishable materials. Once inside, you will be captivated by its distinctive colors and architectural beauty, crafted entirely from wood without a single nail.
After approximately 8 hours, we will return to our original meeting point in Wroclaw.
