Sroda Slaska, Abbey of Lubiaz & St. Hedwig Tour
At 9 am, hotel pickup will be from the center of Wroclaw to begin the journey to Sroda Slaska, where a medieval royal treasure awaits. We will enter the Regional Museum of Sroda Slaska to explore its collection, which includes 3000 silver coins, jewelry, and a crown of gold and precious stones possibly belonging to Queen Blanche de Valois. Notably, part of the treasure was stolen, and while there are plans for restitution, some pieces remain unrecovered.
Next, we will visit the Lubiaz Abbey, the largest Cistercian monastery globally, showcasing Baroque architecture with its impressive 200-meter façade. Inside, we will observe multicolored ceilings, two refectories, a Gothic church, and the crypt of the Dukes of Silesia.
You will have an hour of free time for lunch before proceeding to the sanctuary of St. Hedwig in Trzebnica, a convent established in 1202 for Cistercian nuns. Here, we will admire the late Romanesque interior and learn about the historical events of famine and fires that affected this site.
We will return to Wroclaw, reaching your hotel by 4 pm.
