University of Wroclaw Guided Tour
We'll meet at the blue door of the University of Wroclaw at 2:30 pm. Prepare for an impressive interior.
The museum, located in the University's main building, features marked baroque decorations under Emperor Leopold I of Bohemia, aimed at creating a school for philosophy and Catholic theology.
We'll spend an hour touring the museum, observing various works of art in the rooms and hallways. The University of Wroclaw is notable for being home to 10 Nobel Prize winners.
The tour includes a visit to the Aula Leopoldina, the largest room in the building and the only secular baroque space preserved in Poland in good condition. The illusionist paintings, decorations, and sculptures are highlights.
Your guide will discuss the significance of the Jesuit College and the Counter-Reformation for the Austrian legacy. Additional stops include the Oratorium Marianum, the Imperial Staircase, and the Mathematical Tower.
The tour will conclude at 3:45 pm at the museum exit.
