World War II left its mark on Silesia and can still be seen in the Wlodarz and Osowka tunnels. Find out about the history of these underground structures on this fascinating tour in Lower Silesia from Wroclaw.

WWII Tour in Lower Silesia

We'll meet in the centre of Wroclaw and head towards the Owl Mountains, where we'll discover the tunnels of Project Riese. These tunnels were part of a secret plan by the Nazis, built as a place to safely store weapons. Among them is the Osowka tunnel, where we'll uncover one of the best-kept secrets of the Third Reich.

It's 1943. The Old Continent is at war. The future of Europe is being decided in strategic places such as the Polish region Lower Silesia. The powerful Nazi battle tanks are held back by snow in the battle of Stalingrad, thousands of kilometres from Poland. Did they have any other secret plan besides Osowka? The answer is yes: the Wlodarz complex, the next stop on our tour.

On our visit to the Wlodarz tunnels, the largest of Project Riese, we'll see first-hand what these huge underground tunnels were like. Do you want to find out how this great engineering work was built?

After a day discovering jaw-dropping secrets and fascinating facts about the tunnels, we'll return to Wroclaw.
