WWII Tour in Lower Silesia
We will meet in the centre of Wroclaw and head towards the Owl Mountains to explore the tunnels of Project Riese. These tunnels were part of a secret Nazi plan for weapon storage. Key sites include the Osowka tunnel, featuring significant elements of the Third Reich.
During 1943, Europe is engulfed in war. The Polish region of Lower Silesia is strategically important. While Nazi battle tanks struggle in the battle of Stalingrad, another secret plan exists: the Wlodarz complex, which is the next stop on our tour.
At the Wlodarz tunnels, the largest of Project Riese, we will see what these vast underground structures were like and learn about their construction.
After a day uncovering secrets and facts about the tunnels, we will return to Wroclaw.
