Sail one of the longest rivers in the world on this 5-day cruise along the Yangtze River to the city of Chongqing. You'll fall in love with China's scenery!
Cruise Details
Day 1: Departure from Yichang
At 7 pm, we'll meet at the Maoping Pier in Yichang to start boarding the cruise ship that will be our home for the next 5 days. As you settle into your cabins, at 9 pm, we'll set sail along the waters of the Yangtze River, leaving behind Yichang, the economic center of the Hubei Province.
Day 2: Three Gorges Dam & Xiling Gorge
In the morning, we'll enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet aboard the ship and arrive in Sandouping, where we'll cross the locks of the Three Gorges Dam, the largest dam in the world.
Next, we will travel to Xiling, the longest and deepest part of the Three Gorges, stretching almost 44 miles (66 kilometers). If the river is calm, in the afternoon, we will visit the tribe of the Three Gorges to learn about the region's inhabitants.
Day 3: Wu & Qutang Gorges
After breakfast on board, we'll take a traditional Chinese boat to explore Goddess Stream, one of the most stunning areas of the river.
Afterward, we'll visit the Wu Gorge, where the mountains and cliffs provide captivating scenery. Then we'll make our way to the Qutang Gorge, known as the narrowest part of the Yangtze River Gorges. You’ll have the rest of the afternoon to relax on the ship.
Day 4: Shibaozhai, Fengdu, or Yuhuang Shengdi
We'll enjoy a delicious breakfast on board and, depending on river conditions, we'll visit Shibaozhai, Fengdu, or Yuhuang Shengdi. In Shibaozhai, admire its famous wooden temple, known as the "Pearl of the Yangtze River." It's regarded as one of the strangest buildings in the world.
Fengdu Ghost City, on the north bank of the Yangtze River, features unique demon sculptures built on Mingshan Hill over 2000 years ago. If we visit Yuhuang Shengdi, you'll see the Jade Emperor Pagoda.
We'll conclude the day with dinner on the ship before heading back to our cabins to rest.
Day 5: Chongqing
On our final day, we'll have an early breakfast and conclude our 5-day cruise along the Yangtze River at the Port of Chongqing at 8:30 am.
Itinerary Adjustments
Please note that the cruise itinerary may be modified depending on weather conditions. For this reason, we recommend booking a flight or train from Chongqing on the final day no earlier than 3 pm.
In the event of storms, the final port may be Wanzhou instead of Chongqing. Should this occur, we will provide bus transportation from the Port of Wanzhou to downtown Chongqing.
