Delve into the history of the Tang Dynasty, Shakyamuni and Emperor Gaozong on this private tour of the Famen Temple and the Qianling Mausoleum.
Description
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Xi'an and begin a journey of an hour and a half to the Famen Temple, a significant Buddhist temple in China housing Shakyamuni's relics.
During the guided tour of the Famen Temple, which lasts between 2.5 and 3 hours, we’ll admire its pagoda and understand the reasons for its reverence among Buddha followers.
After visiting the temple, we’ll have lunch at a traditional restaurant featuring local Chinese cuisine. Following lunch, we’ll go to the Qianling Mausoleum, constructed 1300 years ago at an elevation of over 1000 meters (3280 feet).
Upon arrival, we'll walk the "spiritual path" to the mausoleum entrance, where two stone lions await. We'll then embark on a guided tour of the complex, visiting the tombs of Emperor Gaozong and Empress Wu, as well as Prince Yide's Mausoleum, known for its breathtaking murals depicting palace life.
At the conclusion of the tour, we'll return to your hotel in Xi'an, arriving 8 hours after pickup.
