Delve into the history of the Tang Dynasty, Shakyamuni, and Emperor Gaozong on this private tour of the Famen Temple and the Qianling Mausoleum.

Description

We will pick you up from your hotel in Xi'an at the scheduled time and begin a 1.5-hour journey to the Famen Temple, one of the most important Buddhist temples in China that houses the relics of Shakyamuni.

The guided tour of the Famen Temple will last between 2.5 and 3 hours, during which we will observe its remarkable pagoda and explore its significance as a site for meditation and tranquility for followers of Buddha.

Following the temple visit, we will enjoy a traditional Chinese lunch at a nearby restaurant featuring regional specialties. After lunch, we will visit the Qianling Mausoleum, constructed 1300 years ago at an altitude of more than 1000 meters (3280 feet).

Upon arrival, we will walk the "spiritual path" to the mausoleum entrance, which honors the members of the House of Li, the imperial family of the Tang Dynasty. Two stone lions will be at the gate.

We will take a guided tour of the complex and visit the tombs of Emperor Gaozong and Empress Wu, as well as Prince Yide's Mausoleum, known for its murals depicting palace life. The tour concludes with a return to your hotel in Xi'an, arriving 8 hours after pickup.
