Do you know what the eighth wonder of the world is? With this admission ticket to the Terracotta Army Museum, you'll discover the history of this army.
Why visit the Terracotta Army?
The Terracotta Army is recognized as one of the 8th wonders of the world and has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This site contains more than 7000 real-size soldiers, horses and carriages, each with a significant historical background. They were discovered by local farmers searching for water near Xian.
The museum features 3 pits filled with the funerary art of emperor Qin Shi Huang. This emperor reportedly commissioned the construction of these pieces in 221 B.C at the age of 13.
Visitors can view some of these statues outside the pits and learn about the enamel decoration in different colours, the meanings of the symbols on the warrior's clothing, and the restoration techniques used on these ancient artifacts. This visit is engaging.
Opening Times
The Terracotta Army Museum is open Monday to Sunday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with the last entry one hour before closure.
