Lake Yarinacocha Excursion
We'll pick you up at 9 am at your hotel in Pucallpa and take you to Puerto Callao, the capital of the Peruvian district of Yarinacocha.
From there, we'll hop on a boat to start touring Lake Yarinacocha, home to various species of animals and plants in the Amazon rainforest. If we're lucky, we may see local dolphins.
After a two-hour ride, we'll visit a Shipibo-Konibo Indigenous community. This Amazonian group preserves their ancestral customs. During the visit, we'll admire their traditional handicrafts, such as garb and ceramics.
After leaving the community, we'll continue sailing across Lake Yarinacocha, making two stops: one in the village of Caserío 11 de Agosto, where local women create objects with vegetable fibers, and another at the beach of San José.
Finally, we'll hike through the jungle to see local plants and animals. After the hike, we'll return to Puerto Callao, where the bus will take you back to your hotel in Pucallpa. Arrival is scheduled for 1 pm.
