Can you imagine seeing a jungle full of steam and bubbling water? On this excursion to the boiling river of Mayantuyacu, we'll explore this natural phenomenon that has become an attraction in Peru.

Mayantuyacu River Tour

Between 6 am and 7 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Pucallpa and drive to Honoria. After a two and a half hour minibus ride, we'll board a boat to take us to a trail leading to the boiling river of Mayantuyacu.

Once there, we'll hike for one hour, allowing us to experience the beauty of the Peruvian jungle until we reach the boiling river. Along the way, we will encounter several sanctuaries promoting ancestral Amazonian medicine.

Upon arrival, we'll observe the vapours rising from the river waters and discuss various theories explaining the origin of these warm waters that remain a mystery to science.

As we admire the bubbling waters, we will learn about the mythological stories of indigenous communities, such as the Ashaninka people. They refer to this river as Shanay Timpishka, created by an enormous serpent called Yacumama.

You will have three hours of free time to have lunch and enjoy this location. It is recommended to bring food for the day of the excursion.

We'll conclude the excursion at 6 pm, returning you to your hotel.
