Tour Details
Between 6 am and 7 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in Pucallpa and drive to Honoria. Following a 2.5-hour minibus ride, we will board a boat to access a trail leading to the boiling river of Mayantuyacu.
Thereafter, we will hike for one hour through the lush Peruvian jungle to reach the boiling river of Mayantuyacu. During the hike, we will encounter several sanctuaries promoting ancestral Amazonian medicine.
Upon arrival, we will observe the vapours rising from the river waters and discuss various theories surrounding the origin of these warm waters, which remain a scientific mystery.
While enjoying the bubbling waters, we will share mythological stories from indigenous communities, such as the Ashaninka people, who refer to this river as Shanay Timpishka, created by an enormous serpent named Yacumama.
