Yarinacocha & Pacacocha Lakes Excursion

Yarinacocha and Pacacocha are important lagoons in the Amazon region of Ucayali, home to exotic animals such as jaguars and sloths, and Indigenous Peoples preserving their traditions.

The adventure starts at 9 am with hotel pickup and a drive to Yarinacocha, located 2 kilometers from Pucallpa. We will visit La Lupuna, a 200-year-old tree that stands nearly 70 meters tall, and learn about its significance to the town and ecosystem.

Next, we will visit a sugar cane mill to learn about the production of liquors and enjoy a tasting. Afterward, we will walk along the shore of Lake Yarinacocha to observe various tree and plant species.

We'll then walk through the jungle to experience its vegetation and take a boat ride to Pacacocha lagoon, noting the diverse animal life along the shores before stopping at a wildlife lodge.

Following the river, we will reach Puerto Callao in Yarinacocha and visit the Maratíshobo handicraft center to view local Indigenous crafts. We will return to Pucallpa, arriving around 1 pm.
