On this day trip from Yerevan, we'll travel to the north of Armenia to visit the town of Gyumri and the famous Black Fortress, linked to the Russian army.

Day Trip Details

At the designated time, we'll meet on Nalbanyan Street, 96. From the capital of Armenia, we'll drive to Gyumri, a main city in the north.

Upon arrival in Gyumri, we'll first visit the Sev Berd fortress, known as the Black Fortress. Here, we will explore its circular plan and its role in the Russo-Turkish war in the first half of the 19th century.

Next, we'll visit the Museum of National Architecture and Urban Life, located in a red tuff mansion commissioned by the merchant Petros Dzitoghtsyan in 1872, showcasing an extensive collection on Armenian daily life, culture, and history.

We'll continue with a walk through the city center to admire some of its oldest buildings reflecting 19th-century architecture. After this, you will have 1 hour of free time to explore at your pace and try the local Armenian cuisine.

Before returning to Yerevan, we'll conduct a 30-minute tour of the Harichavank monastery, located on the western slope of Mount Aragats, concluding the tour on a high note.

We'll conclude our trip at the initial meeting point after a total duration of 10 to 11 hours.
