Join us on this private tour of Yogyakarta's captivating temples, where we'll explore the enchanting Sambisari, Sari, Plaosan, and Ijo temples, concluding with a sunset at one of these sites.

Description

This private tour begins with hotel pickup at the designated time, leading us to the historic Hindu and Buddhist shrines in Yogyakarta on the island of Java.

Our first stop is the Sambisari temple, a 9th-century Hindu site hidden in the village of Sambisari, discovered in 1966. This temple is notable for being buried over 5 meters underground.

Next, we visit the Sari temple, located 3 km (about 2 miles) from Kalasan, dating back to the 8th century. We will explore its intriguing history and meaning.

A break for lunch at a local restaurant will allow you to enjoy the flavors of the region.

Our journey continues to the Plaosan Temple, also known as the Plaosan Complex, featuring 116 stupas and 58 shrines, representing one of Java's most notable Buddhist sites.

We will then witness a breathtaking sunset at the Ijo temple, the highest temple in Yogyakarta, built between the 10th and 11th centuries during the Mataram Kingdom.

After this enriching 9-hour journey, we will return you to your accommodation in Yogyakarta.
