Your adventure begins as we depart from Yogyakarta towards Merapi volcano, renowned as the most active volcano in Indonesia, which has erupted a staggering 69 times since 1548! The name itself translates to "mountain of fire".

As we approach, you’ll be captivated by the stunning scenery surrounding this volcanic cone. A visit to a nearby village nestled at the mountain's base will grant you insight into life next to an active volcano!

Merapi Volcano + Ulen Sentanu Museum (8 hours)

This itinerary mirrors the previous one, allowing for a break for lunch before we continue to the Ulen Sentanu Museum. Here, you’ll gain knowledge about the intriguing history and tales of the fabled kingdom of Mataram.

Merapi Volcano + Sunrise at Borobudur (12 hours)

Your journey will start before dawn as we pick you up from Yogyakarta and head to Punthuk Setumbu. Following a 20-minute hike uphill, you'll reach a vantage point where both the Merapi volcano and the Borobudur temple can be admired in the early morning light.

Enjoy a stunning sunrise, followed by a visit to the sacred site itself. Afterward, we’ll return to the 4x4 for a scenic drive through the Merapi landscape and make a stop at the majestic Prambanan temple, the tallest temple in Indonesia, to explore its interiors.

After the conclusion of the tour, you will have leisure time for lunch at a local restaurant before we head back to Yogyakarta.
