Private Tour to Merapi Volcano

This private excursion includes pickup and drop-off at your hotel in Yogyakarta, 4x4 transportation, and an English-speaking guide.

Merapi Volcano (6 hours)

Departing Yogyakarta, we will head to the Merapi volcano, the most active volcano in Indonesia, which has erupted 69 times since 1548. Customers will also visit a village at the foot of the mountain to learn about life near an active volcano.

Merapi Volcano + Ulen Sentanu Museum (8 hours)

This option follows the same itinerary as above, with free time for lunch followed by a visit to the Ulen Sentanu Museum to learn about the origins of the kingdom of Mataram.

Merapi Volcano + Sunrise at Borobudur (12 hours)

This tour starts before sunrise with a pickup in Yogyakarta, followed by a hike to a viewpoint at Punthuk Setumbu to see the sunrise over Merapi volcano and the temple of Borobudur. A visit to the shrine and a tour of Merapi's landscapes will follow, concluding with a stop at the temple of Prambanan. After the tour, there will be free time for lunch before returning to Yogyakarta.
