Surakarta and Hindu Temples Private Tour
After hotel pickup, you will travel to Surakarta, approximately two hours from Yogyakarta. Your first stop will be the Radya Pustaka Museum, Indonesia's second oldest museum, featuring a collection of 'Wayang' puppets used in traditional shadow puppet theatre. Next, explore local markets, where you can purchase Batik textiles.
Continue to the Mangkunegaran Palace, an architectural landmark and the best-preserved royal palace, established in 1757 and still housing royal descendants.
After some free time for lunch, visit two significant temples. First, the Javanese-Hindu Candi Cetho, a 15th-century temple complex located 5000 feet (1500 m) above sea level on Mount Lawu. Then, discover Sukuh Temple, known for its erotic reliefs and fertility symbols.
End your day with a drop-off back in Yogyakarta.
