Surakarta and Hindu Temples Private Tour

After pickup from your hotel, you will be driven to Surakarta, approximately two hours from Yogyakarta. The tour includes a visit to the Radya Pustaka Museum, the second oldest museum in Indonesia, featuring 'Wayang' puppets and local handicrafts. Solo is an excellent location for purchasing Batik textiles.

Next, visit the Mangkunegaran Palace, a well-preserved royal palace built in 1757, still home to descendants of Java's royal family.

You will have free time for lunch before visiting two temples in the afternoon. First, explore Javanese-Hindu Candi Cetho, a 15th-century temple complex located on Mount Lawu at nearly 5000 feet (1500 m) above sea level. Then visit Sukuh Temple, known for its erotic reliefs and fertility symbols, built around the same period.

After a full day of cultural exploration, you will be returned to Yogyakarta.
