The hop-on hop-off bus features 20 stops at key attractions throughout the city. An audio guide in English provides information about the points of interest along the route. The complete loop, without stops, lasts approximately one hour.

Notable stops include Clifford’s Tower, Gillygate, South Bank, and Museum Gardens.

How does it work?

Your ticket is valid for 24 consecutive hours from activation, allowing unlimited rides within this period. For instance, if activated on Monday at 3 pm, it remains valid until Tuesday at 3 pm. This flexibility enables easy exploration of major attractions, including York Castle, York Minster, Museum Gardens, and the Jorvik Viking Centre.

Important

When booking, specify the intended activation date. You may use the ticket within 12 months from this date. After reservation, you will receive a voucher via email to present when boarding the bus for the first time.

Timetable & frequency

The sightseeing bus departs every 30 minutes daily from 9 am to 5:30 pm, with a schedule of 10 am to 2:30 pm in November and December. The full journey takes one hour, and the last three buses of the day conclude at the Clifford Tower stop.
