York Tourist Bus
The hop-on hop-off bus features 20 stops at key attractions, guided by an audio guide in English detailing points of interest. The complete journey without stops takes about one hour. Noteworthy stops include Clifford’s Tower, Gillygate, South Bank, and Museum Gardens.
How does it work?
Your ticket is valid for 24 consecutive hours from activation. For instance, if activated at 3 pm on Monday, it remains valid until 3 pm on Tuesday, allowing unlimited bus access during this period. Explore major attractions such as York Castle, York Cathedral (York Minster), Museum Gardens, and the Jorvik Viking Centre.
Important
When booking, indicate the desired activation date; you have 12 months from that date to use it. After booking, you'll receive an email with a voucher to present on your first bus ride.
Timetable & frequency
The sightseeing bus operates daily, departing every 30 minutes between 9 am and 5:30 pm, and from 10 am to 2:30 pm in November and December. The full journey lasts one hour. Note that the last three buses of the day stop at Clifford Tower.
