On this excursion through Yorkshire Dales National Park, we'll explore some of the landscapes that inspired renowned English writers.
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Duncombe Place in York and board our minibus to begin our journey to Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Our first stop will be at the village of Masham, where we'll stroll through historic narrow streets and see the remnants of the Anglo-Saxon cross, dating back over 1300 years.
We'll continue our journey, taking in the lush green meadows before arriving at Grassington, known as the fictional village of Darrowby in the series 'All Creatures Great and Small'. You'll have one hour of free time in Grassington to explore or visit a local café. Afterward, we'll head to Linton Falls, where you can enjoy the waterfalls.
We'll return to the minibus and journey along the River Wharfe, passing through the village of Burnsall to visit the historic ruins of Barden Tower.
Next, we'll arrive at Bolton Abbey, a 12th-century abbey with the ruins of the Augustinian Priory of Bolton. While walking its surroundings, you'll learn about its history.
Finally, we'll return to the meeting point, concluding the trip after 8 hours.
