On this excursion through Yorkshire Dales National Park, we'll explore landscapes that inspired renowned English writers.
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Duncombe Place in York to board our minibus and begin our journey to Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Our first stop will be the village of Masham, where we'll stroll through historic streets and see the Anglo-Saxon cross dating back over 1300 years.
Next, we’ll continue through lush green meadows to Grassington, known as the fictional village of Darrowby from the series 'All Creatures Great and Small'.
You will have an hour of free time in Grassington for exploration or dining at a local café. Following our time in Grassington, we will head to Linton Falls, known for its enchanting waterfalls.
We will return to the minibus and travel along the River Wharfe, passing through Burnsall to visit the historic ruins of Barden Tower.
Next, we will visit Bolton Abbey, a 12th-century abbey housing the ruins of the Augustinian Priory of Bolton. While there, you'll learn about its history.
