On this excursion through Yorkshire Dales National Park, we'll explore landscapes that inspired renowned English writers.
Description
We will meet at Duncombe Place in York at the scheduled time and board our minibus for the journey to Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The first stop will be the village of Masham, where we will walk through historic streets and see the Anglo-Saxon cross, which is over 1300 years old.
Continuing our journey, we will enjoy the lush green meadows of the region before arriving at Grassington, known as the fictional village of Darrowby in 'All Creatures Great and Small'.
You will have one hour of free time in Grassington to explore or have a bite at a local café. After that, we will visit the nearby Linton Falls.
We will then return to the minibus and travel along the River Wharfe, passing through Burnsall to visit the historic ruins of Barden Tower.
Our next destination will be Bolton Abbey, a 12th-century abbey with ruins of the Augustinian Priory of Bolton. You will learn about the history of this site.
Finally, we will return to our meeting point, concluding the trip after 8 hours together.
