On this excursion through Yorkshire Dales National Park, we'll explore notable landscapes associated with famous English writers.

Description

At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Duncombe Place in York, where we'll board our minibus and begin our journey to Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Our first stop will be at the village of Masham, where we'll stroll through its historic streets and see the remnants of the Anglo-Saxon cross, dating back over 1300 years.

We'll continue our journey, enjoying the lush meadows before arriving at Grassington, known as the fictional village of Darrowby from the series 'All Creatures Great and Small'. You'll have one hour of free time in Grassington to explore or grab a bite at a local café. After this, we’ll head to the nearby Linton Falls.

After visiting the falls, we'll return to the minibus and journey along the River Wharfe. We will pass through Burnsall and visit the historic ruins of Barden Tower.

Next, we'll arrive at Bolton Abbey, a 12th-century abbey with the ruins of the Augustinian Priory of Bolton. Here, you will learn about the history of this site.

Finally, we will return to the meeting point, concluding our trip after 8 hours together.
