On this excursion through Yorkshire Dales National Park, we will explore notable landscapes that influenced famous English writers.

Description

At the scheduled time, we will meet at Duncombe Place in York, where we will board our minibus for the journey to Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Our first stop will be at the village of Masham, where we can stroll through its historic streets and see the Anglo-Saxon cross, dating back over 1300 years.

We will then continue, enjoying the lush meadows of the region before arriving at Grassington, known as the fictional village of Darrowby in the series 'All Creatures Great and Small'.

You will have one hour of free time in Grassington to explore or dine at a local café. Afterward, we will head to the nearby Linton Falls, notable for their beauty.

Next, we will return to the minibus and travel along the River Wharfe, passing through Burnsall to visit the historic ruins of Barden Tower.

We will then proceed to Bolton Abbey, a 12th-century abbey with ruins of the Augustinian Priory of Bolton. You'll learn about the history of this site during your visit.

Finally, we will return to the meeting point, concluding our trip after 8 hours together.
