Description
At the designated time, we will pick you up from your accommodation in Whitehorse to commence this exploration of one of Yukon’s captivating regions in northeast Canada.
Our journey starts at Emerald Lake, renowned for its vivid green hue. Are you curious about what gives it such extraordinary colors? As we walk along the lake's shore, we'll uncover these secrets and take a moment to enjoy a refreshing drink and snack.
Following this, we will head towards the Carcross Desert, recognized as the smallest desert in the world, where sweeping sand dunes await us. You may find it surprising to encounter such a dry landscape in one of Canada’s northernmost regions. The fascinating reasons behind this unique geographical phenomenon will be explained during our trip.
Adjacent to the desert lies the Caribou Crossing Wildlife Museum, where we will have the opportunity to observe taxidermied animals and delve into the native wildlife of Yukon. Additionally, we’ll view life-size reconstructions of species that roamed these lands in prehistoric times, including the woolly mammoth.
After our museum visit, we will proceed to the charming town of Carcross. In this quaint locale, we will discover the fascinating tales of the gold rush that occurred at the turn of the 20th century, drawing numerous adventurers to North America in their quest for riches. Get ready for some wonderful stories!
Our adventure will conclude with a return trip to the hotels in Whitehorse after a memorable 5.5 hours together.
