Let yourself be captured by the landscapes of Yukon on this trip to the Emerald Lake and the Carcross Desert, where we'll also learn about the history of the gold rush. Don't miss this unforgettable tour in northern Canada!

Description

At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel in Whitehorse to begin this tour of one of the most fascinating places in the Yukon region in northeastern Canada.

Our first stop will be at Emerald Lake, known for its green colour. We will learn about its colours while strolling along its banks, where we will take a break to enjoy a snack and a drink.

Next, we'll visit the Carcross Desert, the smallest desert in the world, to see its sand dunes. This arid area is surprising given its location in northern Canada, and the reasons for this unique geographical feature will be explained during the tour.

Adjacent to the desert is the Caribou Crossing Wildlife Museum, where we will see taxidermy animals and learn about Yukon's native wildlife. The museum also features recreations of prehistoric species, including the woolly mammoth.

After the museum, our tour continues in the town of Carcross, where we will learn about the gold rush that occurred at the end of the 19th century and the start of the 20th century. We will hear remarkable stories from this period.

Finally, we will return to the hotels in Whitehorse, concluding the tour after 5.5 hours together.
