We'll convene at Schiena dell’Asino car park at the designated time to kick off this remarkable hike amidst the beautiful sceneries surrounding Etna and Valle del Bove. Let’s set off!

Our ascent will take us up to 1,970 meters (6,460 feet) above sea level via the Schiena dell’Asino path, renowned for being one of the most accessible and scenic trails in the Etna Natural Park. Curious about the origins of the path's name? You’ll uncover its mysteries and much more!

During our trek, we will explore the volcanic terrain of eastern Sicily and uncover its hidden caves. Upon reaching the summit of the crater, breathtaking views of the Valle del Bove await, featuring landscapes rich in volcanic ash. The otherworldly scenery is sure to leave you in awe!

After soaking in the incredible sights from above, we will begin our descent. Along the route, you will come across a vast black sand canal and Pythagoras Cave. Did you know that this cave was formed by a river of lava?

We will conclude this hiking journey at our starting point after approximately 3-4 hours of exploration.
