Tour Details

At the designated time, you will be collected from your accommodation on Zanzibar. From there, we will head to the Forodhani port, where a boat will be ready for our journey. After boarding, we will set sail towards Prison Island.

Approximately 20 minutes later, as we glide through the Indian Ocean, we will reach this island, locally referred to as Changuu Island. The name reflects its historical use as a slave prison and a quarantine site for individuals afflicted with yellow fever.

This location is also notable for its giant tortoise sanctuary, home to tortoises brought from the Seychelles in the late 19th century. You are sure to find them enchanting! Following our visit, we will return to the boat and set off to Nakupenda Beach, where you will enjoy 2 hours of leisure to bask in the sun or immerse yourself in the turquoise waters.

After your free time, a beach lunch will be served, featuring grilled fish and seafood, alongside a selection of vegetables, fruits, and refreshing soft drinks.

Once lunch concludes, we will make our way back to the departure point, and afterwards, return you to your hotel, marking the end of this enriching 8-hour experience.
