Tour Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel on the island of Zanzibar, and then proceed to the port of Forodhani, where a boat will be waiting. We'll board the boat and head towards Prison Island.

After about 20 minutes sailing through the Indian Ocean, we'll arrive at this site, locally known as Changuu Island. It was historically used as a prison for slaves and a quarantine center for yellow fever patients.

The island is notable for its sanctuary of giant tortoises, imported from the Seychelles in the late 19th century. Following our visit, we will return to the boat and proceed to Nakupenda Beach, where you'll enjoy approximately 2 hours of free time to relax or swim in the turquoise waters.

Afterward, a beach lunch will be provided, featuring grilled fish and seafood, vegetables, fruits, and soft drinks.

After lunch, we'll return to the departure pier and take you back to your hotel, concluding this 8-hour activity.
