Walking Tour of Stone Town & Boat Ride to Prison Island

You will be picked up from your hotel in Zanzibar at the scheduled time and proceed to Stone Town, the historic capital of the island, to begin the guided walking tour.

The tour covers the streets of Stone Town, highlighting the history and architecture of significant sights including the House of Wonders, home to the Museum of History and Culture of Zanzibar and the Swahili Coast, the Palace Museum, the Old Fort, and the Anglican Cathedral, where a monument to the slaves is located.

After the walking tour, you will travel to the port for a 20-minute boat ride to Prison Island, which historically served as a prison and quarantine station. Now it is a tourist destination known for its collection of endangered giant tortoises.

Upon conclusion of the tour, you will return to Stone Town, taking you back to your hotel after a total of 6 hours.
