Walking Tour of Stone Town & Boat Ride to Prison Island

You'll be picked up from your hotel on the island of Zanzibar at the scheduled time and we'll head to Stone Town, the historic center of the island's capital for a guided walking tour.

We will walk through the streets of Stone Town, covering the history and architecture of significant sights, including the House of Wonders which houses the Museum of History and Culture of Zanzibar and the Swahili Coast, the Palace Museum, the Old Fort, and the Anglican Cathedral where we will view the monument to the slaves.

After the walking tour, we will head to the port for a 20-minute boat ride to Prison Island, formerly a prison for rebellious slaves and later a quarantine station for yellow fever. Currently, it is a tourist resort home to a collection of endangered giant tortoises.
