Feel the magic of ancient Mayan ruins in Palenque and explore the spectacular natural waterfalls of Agua Azul and Misol-Há on this tour of Chiapas' must-see landmarks from San Cristóbal de las Casas.
Agua Azul, Misol-Há & Palenque Tour
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in San Cristóbal de las Casas, setting off northeast towards the city of Ocosingo. A breakfast stop will be made en route.
We'll then proceed to the Agua Azul Waterfalls, where you'll enjoy 45 minutes of free time to bathe in the natural pools formed by the falls.
Next, we will visit Misol-Há waterfall, which features a 115-foot (35 metre) tall cascade in a lush tropical jungle setting. These landscapes were used in the filming of Arnold Schwarzenegger's Predator.
We will then continue to the Palenque Archaeological Site, the highlight of our trip. An additional stop for lunch will be made along the way.
Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the ruins of the ancient Mayan city date back to 226 BC and showcase significant Maya art and architecture. Notable sites include the Temples of the Skull, the Palace, the Ball Game, and the Temple of the Inscriptions.
A guided tour of Palenque will be provided, followed by one hour of free time to explore the site at your own pace.
We will then return to the center of San Cristóbal de las Casas, arriving back around 18:00.
