Rancho Nuevo & El Arcotete Tour

At your chosen time, pick-up will be from your hotel in San Cristóbal de las Casas for a tour of the Rancho Nuevo Ecopark and El Arcotete.

A 20-minute drive will take us to the Rancho Nuevo Ecotourism Park, featuring conifer-lined trails and magnificent caves. Discovered in 1547, these natural caverns include a gallery of over 10 kilometers underground filled with stalactites and stalagmites. We will walk along a 750-meter walkway while learning about the origins of this rock formation.

After exploring the caves, you will have 40 minutes of free time to explore the area. Then, we will continue to the El Arcotete Ecotourism Park, known for its abundant pines, cypresses, and oaks.

Here, we will view the renowned 50-meter-high limestone arch over the Fogótico River, a natural wonder. Observing closely, the impressive caves above the arch can be seen along with their unique shapes.

At the conclusion of the four-hour tour, you will be taken back to your hotel in San Cristóbal de las Casas.
