Lucerne & Stanserhorn Day Trip

History and stunning landscapes take center stage on this day excursion to Lucerne, featuring entry to the CabriO cable car for a ride to the summit of Stanserhorn.

Trip Overview

At the scheduled time, we will depart from the Sihlquai bus station parking area towards Lucerne. Prepare yourself to explore one of Switzerland's most picturesque cities. During our journey, you'll discover fascinating insights about this charming destination.

Once we arrive in Lucerne, you’ll have approximately 2 hours of leisure time to enjoy a beverage and explore the historic city center at your own pace. A stop at the Kapellbrücke is highly recommended. This pedestrian bridge spans the River Reuss and holds the title of being the oldest wooden bridge in Europe, dating back to the 14th century!

After your independent exploration of Lucerne, we will reconvene in the city center and board a bus heading to the idyllic town of Stans. Upon arrival, you will receive a train ticket for your return journey to Lucerne later in the day, as well as a ticket for the CabriO, recognized as the world's first open-top cable car.

The CabriO will swiftly transport you to the summit of Stanserhorn, an impressive alpine peak that reaches 1,898 meters (6,227 feet) in height in under half an hour. At the summit, you will be treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding lakes and mountains.

When the time is right, you can ride the CabriO cable car back to Stans. In this charming village, you will take the train to Lucerne at the time indicated on your ticket. The bus will be ready to pick you up outside the train station, returning you to the meeting point in Zurich, concluding this 9.5-hour excursion.

Guidance Information

This experience is partially guided, as the guide will accompany you only during the bus segments. Once at the top of Stanserhorn and throughout the train ride from Stans to Lucerne, please note that a guide will not be present. However, we will ensure you have all the necessary information to make the most of your visit to these locations.
