Lucerne & Stanserhorn Day Trip

History and scenery are the main characters on this day trip to Lucerne, which includes entry to the CabriO cable car to ride the top of the Stanserhorn.

Day Trip Details

At the indicated time, we'll depart from the Sihlquai bus station parking lot towards Lucerne. During the journey, we'll present various facts about this picturesque town.

Upon arrival in Lucerne, you'll have about 2 hours of free time to explore the historic city centre. A visit to the Kapellbrücke, the oldest wooden bridge in Europe from the 14th century, is recommended.

After your exploration, we’ll regroup in the city centre and travel by bus to Stans. You will receive a train ticket to return to Lucerne later. Additionally, you will get a ticket for the CabriO, the world's first open-top cable car.

This cable car will take you to the top of the Stanserhorn, an alpine peak at 1,898 metres (6,227 feet). You’ll enjoy views of the surrounding mountains and lakes.

In good time, you can take the CabriO cable car back to Stans. From there, take the train to Lucerne as per the schedule on your ticket. The bus will await you at the train station to return to the meeting point in Zurich, concluding this 9.5-hour day trip.

Guide Info

This tour is partially guided; the guide will accompany you only on the bus rides. You will not have a guide at the top of the Stanserhorn or during the train journey from Stans to Lucerne. All necessary information will be provided for your enjoyment.
