Lucerne & Stanserhorn Day Trip

History and scenery are the main characters on this day trip to Lucerne, which includes entry to the CabriO cable car to ride to the top of the Stanserhorn.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll depart from Sihlquai bus station parking lot towards Lucerne. You'll have about 2 hours of free time in Lucerne to explore the historic city centre, with a visit to the Kapellbrücke, the oldest wooden bridge in Europe, dating back to the 14th century.

After your free time, we'll meet in the city centre and travel by bus to the nearby town of Stans. Here, you'll receive a train ticket for your return to Lucerne and a ticket for the CabriO, the world's first open-top cable car.

This funicular will take you to the top of the Stanserhorn, at an altitude of 1,898 metres (6,227 feet), where you can enjoy views of the mountains and lakes. Later, you can take the CabriO cable car from the top of the Stanserhorn to Stans and catch your train back to Lucerne at the specified time on your ticket. A bus will be waiting for you at the train station to return you to the meeting point in Zurich, concluding this 9.5-hour day trip.

This tour is partially guided; the guide will only accompany you on the bus rides. At the top of the Stanserhorn and during the train journey from Stans to Lucerne, you won't be accompanied by a guide. All necessary information will be provided for your enjoyment.
