Rhine Waterfalls + Stein am Rhein Day Trip

Want to explore northern Switzerland? On this tour from Zurich, we'll visit the Rhine Waterfalls and the picturesque town of Stein am Rhein.

Tour Details

We will meet at the Sihlquai bus station parking lot and head to northern Switzerland. The landscapes will be memorable.

Our first stop is Laufen Castle. Inside, we will see the Historama exhibition and enjoy views of the Rhine Falls. You'll have approximately one hour free to admire the waterfalls, accessible via the castle's panoramic lift or a walk along the Belvedere path to a viewing platform. A boat trip is available at your own expense, but only between April and October.

Next, we will visit Schaffhausen to see the exterior of Munot Fortress, followed by the medieval village of Stein am Rhein.

In Stein am Rhein, we will take a walking tour through the old town to view frescoed facades, including the Haus zum Weissen Adler, home to the main Renaissance mural painting in Switzerland. After this tour, you can enjoy leisure time in the town center. We will reconvene to return to Zurich, concluding this 5 hour and 15 minute tour.

Rhine Falls Boat Trip

If weather permits, you can take an optional boat trip to the Rhine Falls for 10CHF for adults, 5CHF for children aged 6 to 15, and free for those under 6. Note that the boat entrance is not suitable for prams and individuals with reduced mobility.
