Rhine Waterfalls + Stein am Rhein Day Trip

Want to explore northern Switzerland? On this tour from Zurich, we'll admire the famous Rhine Waterfalls and visit the picturesque town of Stein am Rhein, which borders Germany.

Tour Details

At the specified time, we'll meet at the Sihlquai bus station parking lot and head to the north of Switzerland. Our first stop will be at Laufen Castle, where we'll tour the castle and see the Historama exhibition, along with views of the Rhine Falls.

You'll have approximately one hour free to admire the waterfalls. You can view them from the castle's panoramic lift or walk along the Belvedere path to a viewing platform just above the falls. An optional boat trip is available at your own expense from April to October.

After this, we will pass through Schaffhausen, viewing the exterior of the Munot Fortress, before continuing to the medieval village of Stein am Rhein.

In Stein am Rhein, we'll take a walking tour through the old town to see frescoed buildings, including the Haus zum Weissen Adler, home to the main Renaissance mural painting in Switzerland. After the tour, enjoy some leisure time in the village before returning to Zurich, concluding this 5 hour and 15 minute tour.

Rhine Falls Boat Trip

If the weather permits, an optional boat trip to the Rhine Falls is available. Ticket prices are 10CHF for adults, 5CHF for children aged 6 to 15, and free for children under 6. The boat entrance is not accessible for prams or those with reduced mobility.
