Birdwatching at the San Rafael Estate
- 2 - 4 Stunden
If you like birds, you can't miss this birdwatching trip at the San Rafael ranch. We'll take a hiking route to observe different birds of the Argentinian province of Chaco.
Birdwatching at the San Rafael Estate
We'll start this activity by meeting at 9:30 am at the Estancia San Rafael, located in the outskirts of Resistencia. In this protected area we'll embark on a low-difficulty hiking route lasting two hours, covering a total of 3 to 8 kilometres (2 to 5 miles), depending on the group and weather conditions.
During the walk we'll spot various endemic birds, including toucans, cardinals, and red-footed chuñas. We will learn to distinguish species by observing their beaks and plumage. If conditions are favorable, we may also see different hawks and aquatic birds such as the ipequí and the sirirí duck. The local ecosystem provides an ideal habitat for these animals.
We'll conclude the hiking route by returning to the starting point, arriving at 11:30 am.
