Come and join us for a cooking workshop to learn how to prepare traditional Galician dishes. You'll also be able to join us in buying things at the market and exploring the culinary delights of La Coruña.
Galician Cooking Workshop+ Market Shopping
When booking, you can choose between three options. Each starts at Rúa Alfredo Vicenti in La Coruña and offers the opportunity to learn about Galician gastronomy. Below, you'll see the three options:
Tapas workshop (1.5 hours)
We'll meet at the indicated time for an introduction to the menu we'll be sampling and the tasks needed to be done before we start working. We'll learn how to create traditional tapas based on ingredient availability, including chicharrones toast with local cheese, prawn salpicón, mussels cooked in Godello wine, raxo a la gallega with patatas bravas, and Santiago cake. After preparing the dishes, we will taste the outcomes.
Schedule: Tuesday to Friday at 2:30 pm.
Cooking Workshop (2 hours)
This cooking class covers traditional Galician dishes and the culinary customs of the region. We will learn about ancestral elaborations in Galician kitchens, including mussels, paella with squid and cockles, volandeiras with ham, and Santiago cake. After preparing each dish, we will enjoy the delicacies around the table.
Schedule: Tuesday through Friday at 11:30 am.
Cooking Workshop+ Market Shopping (3 hours)
In this option, we'll meet and head to the market in Lugo Square, exploring various stalls of seafood and fish. We'll also visit meat, sausage, fruit, and vegetable stalls to choose ingredients for our dishes. After shopping, we will learn how to prepare traditional Galician recipes and enjoy the results.
