Kumasi Day Trip
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Accra to start this excursion to Kumasi.
Our first stop will be the Manhyia Palace Museum, where we will learn about the history of the Ashanti people through a documentary. We'll visit the original rooms and chambers to understand the significance of the Ashanti Empire.
Next, we'll visit the Okomfo Anokye Sword Site to learn about the founding history of the Ashanti nation. This site is known for the immovable sword of Okomfo Anokye, which has remained in the ground for almost 300 years and is tied to the Ashanti's fate.
We'll take a break for lunch before visiting the Prempeh II Museum, a replica of an Ashanti Empire chief's house showcasing ceremonial clothing, jewelry, amulets, furniture, and royal regalia. We'll immerse ourselves in local life at the Kejetia Market, one of the largest in Ghana.
On the return trip to Accra, we'll stop at the Bonwire Kente Weaving Centre, the origin of the famous "kente" fabric. After 15 hours of excursion, we'll return to your accommodation in Accra.
