On this excursion to Kumasi from Accra, we'll discover the culture and history of the Ashanti people and visit the attractions of Ghana's most populated city.
Kumasi Day Trip
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Accra to start this excursion to Kumasi. Our first stop will be at the Manhyia Palace Museum, where we'll watch a documentary about the history of the Ashanti people and visit the palace's original rooms to understand the significance of the Ashanti Empire.
Next, we'll visit the Okomfo Anokye Sword Site, known for the immovable sword of Okomfo Anokye, which has been in the ground for nearly 300 years. Following this, there will be a break for lunch on your own. Afterward, we'll continue to the Prempeh II Museum, a replica of an Ashanti Empire chief's house, to see ceremonial clothing, jewelry, amulets, furniture, and royal regalia. Additionally, we'll visit the Kejetia Market, one of the largest markets in Ghana.
On our way back to Accra, we'll stop at the Bonwire Kente Weaving Centre, the origin of the famous "kente" fabric. After a 15-hour excursion, we'll return to your accommodation in Accra.
