Catania Scuba Diving

Do you want to go scuba diving? Whether you're a beginner or have a certification, this activity in Aci Castello offers an opportunity to discover the waters of the Gulf of Catania.

Activity Details

At your chosen time, we will meet at Via Provinciale 23/25 in Aci Trezza and walk to the port of Aci Castello, where a boat will await us. We will sail along the Ionian Sea to find the best diving locations.

Before diving, we will equip ourselves with necessary technical equipment, including fins and oxygen pumps. Instruction will cover the role of each equipment piece, underwater communication signals, and basic safety rules.

Once ready, we will dive. First-time divers can go up to 6 meters (19 feet), while certified divers can reach 18 meters (59 feet).

Accompanied by an instructor, we will swim near islets of volcanic origin and observe the local flora and fauna, including white seabream, blackspot seabream, octopus, sea sponges, and gorgonias.

While diving off the coast of Aci Castello, we will see notable volcanic faults, columns of solidified lava, and unique rock formations, as well as points in the Gulf of Catania where sunken ships from the Second World War are located.

After a total of 4 hours, we will conclude the activity with disembarkation at the departure port.
